Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response
1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full. If you've received your feedback via email, you can simply cut and paste it from the email into your blog.
WWW: Your editing skills are really very good here – lots to credit. Excellent continuity editing, clear narrative communicated, and a perfect product shot at the end of the advert. You were able to film a lot in the allocated time during our lesson – good time management displayed.
EBI: The preliminary exercise advert length was between 30-40 seconds and yours is well over, not a problem for our real coursework but ensure you meet the minimum requirements. In terms of the editing, the main feedback from this project is the audio tracks. Maybe have the audio playing throughout the workout and then maybe it increases when the pack shot of the product is shown. The product pack shot is too fast, and I am not sure the typography and colour make it appealing or links to the product enough. I think the text at the end is not needed or choose only 1 slogan not to confuse your target audience.
LR: As your learner response, write what you are planning to make for your real coursework. Will you choose to make the 2 video adverts or 3 print adverts? Explain your decision.
2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write two WWW bullet points (What Went Well) and two EBI bullet points (Even Better If) for your preliminary exercise.
3) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project? List three things you have learned or will do differently as a result of this exercise. You may want to comment on organisation, actors, filming, editing or something else entirely but be specific.
In my coursework, I will probably go with the 2 video adverts as I find it better to express what the advert is about as I can put more information in a video than in a print advert. I enjoy editing however the website we use to edit is hard to understand and I cannot access it at home so I cannot see all the things the website offers I have to wait until my next media lesson. However i like learning new things and i will work hard to get a good advert
