Media year1

 1) Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?

Learning all about how people use media in their normal lives and how it will help me in life.

2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?
How to film and be able to speak what i learnt in media confidently.

3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media (5-9)?
The grade that i'm hoping to get is 7 and over or a 6.

4) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?
The last TV programme or film i watched was The Grinch. 

5) Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience? Why would an audience like it?
Its a very popular movie which can be watched at any age because of how they made the movie universal and child friendly also its a very well known movie amongst kids and adults due to the movie being made a very long time ago.

6) What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? (Radio, TV, phone etc.)
 I have used phone,TV,iPad,laptop and apple watch.

7) What device do you use most to access the media?
The device i use most is my Phone. 

8) What is your average 'screen time' (or equivalent) on your phone each day. Is this about right, too little or too much? Why?
My average screen time is about 7 hours.

 9) Why was the casting of Jodie Whittaker a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?
I have not watched doctor who but my research and the mini clips i have watched shows me that she has a very strong connection to her character and that she is an amazing woman who is able to stick to what she needs to do just like how she did while making doctor who and done an amazing job however she quit her cast in doctor who.



10) What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.

1.I think they may enjoy the transformation from that man into Jodie Whittaker because it is very unexpected and really good details in the movie that are not easily recognised but allow us to enjoy the movie even better.


2.They way that man speaks to himself making sure the watchers understand what is happening and how he is feeling in the movie because many readers like it when directors add this to movies because some watchers may become lost during the movie because many thing may be happening at once.


3.He lighting and decoration of the area that they are in because it shows how good the set can get and it would want us to keep paying attention because many things could go wrong in that clip due to all the wires and the flashing lights because in many movies that are new to this generation flashing lights and wire noises and electromagnetic wired flashing is known to happen before a bad situation because of all the ways that it could go wrong.

  Conglomerate Most major media companies are conglomerates that own a range of smaller companies (called subsidiaries). An example of this is Disney owning Marvel. Vertical integration Vertical integration is when one conglomerate owns different companies in the same chain of production. E.g Disney owns film studios, CGI specialists, film distributors and TV channels such as the Disney Channel. This gives Disney the chance to make money at every stage of production. Complete ownership = more profit. Horizontal integration Horizontal integration is when one company buys other companies at the same level of distribution.
